Daniel C. Anderson is the Bureau County State’s Attorney after being appointed to the position on December 1, 2024.
Mission
The main goal of this office is to protect the safety and welfare of all Bureau County residents as well as working to bring justice to those who have been victimized. The Bureau County State’s Attorney’s office is committed to working with our local and state police agencies and the residents of our community to prevent and reduce crime and to ensure that all crime victims receive justice.
Roles and Responsibilities
The State’s Attorney’s office serves as the chief law enforcement officer and legal advisor for the Bureau County Board and all elected and appointed County Officials. The Bureau County State’s Attorney’s office has a wide range of duties and responsibilities which includes the prosecution of traffic, misdemeanor, and felony cases against both adult and juvenile offenders and serves to protect children from abuse and neglect.
